We compute filler ratio as the count of filler ingredients (corn, wheat, soy, soybean meal, wheat flour, corn gluten meal) divided by total ingredient count. A high filler ratio reduces a product's score because it indicates the formula relies on low-cost plant matter rather than concentrated animal proteins. Filler ratio is part of the overall ingredient-quality score, weighted at roughly 30%.
